This vice has become my saving grace lately. I hesitated for awhile because it still has a small amount of alcohol, but after doing research, I decided to give it a try. Surround yourself with happy people. Being around people who are content boosts your own mood. Friends and family help you celebrate life's successes and support you in difficult times. Let people know that you appreciate what they do for you or even just that you're glad they're part of your life.

You can then consistently look back, see how far you’ve come, and assess what you have accomplished along the way. Anything you can do to improve your overall health and wellness will serve double duty and improve your ability to stay sober. You can always improve how you fare in sobriety by looking at where you can improve your quality of life. If you are hungry, even if that is not your main issue, get something healthy to eat. If you are feeling exhausted, refresh with a quick walk outside or a coffee nap if you can. Additionally, there are online support networks that can help steer you in the right direction.

That led to a pretty terrible habit of feeling sorry for myself every chance I got (and I got many). Many of these problems enter our lives because of our drinking. First of all, let me preface this by saying that getting and staying sober has been, by far, the best decision that I’ve ever made. There is no doubt in my mind about that. But the result of that work is miraculous. I have amazing relationships, I have a life with meaning, I have an active spiritual life. The juice is completely worth the squeeze. Yes, I no longer have the option of using a substance to escape my feelings or problems. But because of that, I have learned to actually DEAL with them instead. Yes, asking for help was already listed, but it is so important that it is worth repeating.
